Meet the Family
TriniCakes Cupcakery was founded in the summer of 2010 by Satirah Foster out of a love for her niece, Triniti, who is the namesake behind the business as well as a loving passion for her family members in general — each having a featured cupcake flavor of their own. Satirah and her mother, Anna Foster– who is responsible for the development of
the delicious homemade recipes– set out to create a company that reflects their own values in life. The use of all natural, non-preservative ingredients, as well as sustainable paper products, and a commitment to the community are just a few ways TriniCakes strives to deliver the best quality
product and experience.
There's alot of great things that can be said about the man that made it all possible. As the mentor and source of encouragement during the developing stages of the business, Triniti's grandpa brought a wealth of knowledge and wisdom that can only come from a lifetime of hard work and experience. Ethical qualities like discipline and staying true to one's beliefs without wavering to meet societal norms are some of the founding principles that have helped shape the company into what it is today. Anyone that knows him well knows that apple pie has always been his dessert of choice. The PapaCake, a fresh apple cake with creamy brown sugar cinnamon frosting, is certainly the next best thing!
As the matriarch of the family, Gammy (Triniti’s great grandma) has had the pleasure of watching us all grow and develop through the years. The love, wisdom, and patience that only a grandparent could portray are the foundations for a strong family unit. The GammyCake is a fresh banana cake with banana frosting. The inspiration behind her cupcake flavor is her very own banana nut bread that we have all grown up enjoying. The quest to create the perfect recipes began by borrowing Gammy’s classic 1950s mixer which is still running strong – proof that certain things in life are just timeless and can’t be replaced.
As a lover of all things chocolate, Tiri is the aunt of Trini and the two are even closer than the spelling of their nickname. The TiriCake—a rich dark chocolate cake with creamy chocolate frosting—resembles Tiri herself who believes that the best things in life are simple and sweet. Nostalgic memories of childhood and family in general are what matter most to her which is exactly what she had in mind when she founded the company in the Summer of 2010. No detail went unnoticed as she took her vision and hand sketched every creative element of the company, including each piece of merchandise, so that prototype designs could then be made by professionals. As the so-called “brain” behind the business, Tiri took just 9 months to bring the dream that she had for her family to life.
As the original of the bunch, the TriniCake is a moist vanilla cake with creamy vanilla frosting – but that only describes the flavor! Triniti, the 6-year-old inspiration behind the business, is full of life and far from ordinary. The classic vanilla flavor combination was chosen as a compliment to the simple joy and innocence of childhood. As girly as they come, Triniti (nicknamed “Trini”), has a love for all things pretty and pink! Some of her favorite pastimes as a little one have been spent making cupcakes with her Aunt Tiri. Cupcakes were introduced to her when she was just 3 years old, and with a name like TriniCakes Cupcakery, the memories of childhood and the inspiration of family is sure to stick with her forever.
If there’s one thing that’s certain about Trini, it’s that she loves her mother and is like her mini-me in training – modeling after everything she does. The BreezyCake is an Italian vanilla cake baked with fresh raspberries topped with a light raspberry frosting and garnished with shaved white chocolate. Breezy, whose favorite color has always been purple, spent many years singing beautifully with the renowned Children’s Chorus of San Antonio and traveled to great places like Italy. Music still remains a deep interest in her life and coincidentally, Triniti has picked up on that talent as well!
To many people he’s known as PJ, a dominating force on the football field, but to the family he’s simply our “buddy”. It’s a nickname given to him during the days when his sisters would compete over who got to sit next to his seat to feed and play with him in the car. From the time he was a baby, he’s had that effect on people and the bond between him and Triniti is no different. From ballet recitals to football games, Triniti and her “Uncle Buddy” have always been each other’s biggest fans. His love for sweet potato pies made it easy for his mom to know what cupcake flavor would be his. The BuddyCake is a spiced fresh sweet potato cake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting.
The loving grandmother to Triniti also happens to be the mastermind behind the great taste! Every recipe was created by her and mastered to perfection as a result of lots of food chemistry research as well as trial and error and a fun summer spent in the kitchen. She attributes the success she has had in creating delicious cupcakes to using the highest quality ingredients and handcrafting everything the old traditional way like she was taught by watching her grandmothers cook as a child. For years she has been known for her delicious bread pudding that she often makes for family and friends during the holidays. Thus, she began the difficult, yet interesting, task of capturing the essence of that unique flavor in a cupcake. The NanaCake is a spiced bread pudding cake baked with coconut, raisins, and pecans and is topped with a bourbon vanilla frosting. This New Orleans inspired treat is as authentic as the real bourbon that’s added to the frosting!
